It all started back in March. When Mom got better after the infection, Dad says she got the "itch" to start house hunting. This of course was before they were ready to put our house up for sale.So they drug me to a lot of houses and after one failed attempt (a nice house with not enough storage) they found what they were looking for. Only problem was the location. Not exactly in the area they were looking, but close.
After a lot of talking they decided it would be a good place for us and for me to go to school. It's a small community of about 1,300 right outside of Evansville. The house has a huge yard and is on rock road out in the country. But there are several houses on our street - all families with young kids. So I will have plenty of people to get in trouble with.
It is about a 15 minute drive to work for Dad and about 30 minutes for Mom. It is your basic ranch with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms on the first floor. There is a full basement with a full bathroom that we will finish out. There is a window (for fire escape) and that can be made into a 4th bedroom. We'll also make another family room down there.
But it has the top 4 things Mom insisted on - 2 bathrooms, laundry room upstairs, dishwasher and attached garage! Plus a large dettached garage.
We decided to paint and re-do a lot of the flooring before we move in, so most of our weekends and weeknights have been spent working on the new house and praying our old house sells quickly!
Today has been what I call a good day. First, we got to sleep later because of the time change. Then, we went to church. We came home and packed a picnic lunch and went to a local park to eat and walk in the woods.
I got this basketball game for my birthday from a friend. Mom likes it because by a miracle it requires NO BATTERIES! Dad likes it because he can beat Mom. I like it because I can play by myself or against Mom and Dad.
This weekend we had a tournament in our house by taking turns playing each other. One person started as the "ref" and then would play the winner of the game and we just kept going in that rotation for a long time Friday night.
We spent the weekend before the 4th of July in Warsaw visiting family. As usual we did a lot of fun things while we were there. We stayed at Papa Ivory & Mama Judy's and got to swim and drive the big red tractor! Plus I helped Daddy & Papa with a project and messed around in the barn. We visited Great Grandma & Grandpa Carpenter and I helped feed the fish in their lake.
I got to celebrate my birthday a little early with Grandma Anita, Aunt Cindy & Uncle Doug, Aunt Natalie, my cousins and Great Grandpa & Grandma Blackburn. We also celebrated Madyson's birthday & Dad's at the lake. Lots of sand and water! That night we got to see the fireworks at the lake too!
Grandma Anita also took Madyson, Jordan and I to the Fort Wayne Zoo. They had a lot of really neat things there to do.
As usual I miss them and can't wait to see them all again soon!
Last weekend we went to The Children's Museum with Mama Terry, Papa Kelly & Maddie and Tyler. I had been there on a school field trip before, but this was the first time Mom and everyone else had been. My favorite part was the water room! I'm going to a special (1 week) camp there this summer for kids my age about creatures!
