Memorial Day Weekend

Hope you all had a nice holiday weekend. Sorry for the delay in getting a blog posted up here. Things have been a bit hectic around our house. Lots going on I guess. This past weekend I went to my friend's 5th birthday party ~ Happy Birthday Faith!!! I had a really good time at her party and took home some fun playdough & tools to make shapes with.
While Dad played golf, Mom & I spent some time with Mama & Papa Vote in New Harmony hanging out at their campsite. It was HOT! Of course that didn't stop me from having fun. I always enjoy playing outdoors in the dirt & rocks. As you can see I did spend some time creating things with playdough.
Aside from playing with playdough, we had some burgers and hotdogs along with homemade ice cream (made by Mama) that was absolutely delicious (Mom's words) "for real" (my words). I spent some time in the air conditioned camper being nice to Wego.
On Monday I went to the movies to see "Over The Hedge." Mom's friend, Simona & her boyfriend Jeremiah, went with us. They're really funny ~ as I'm sure they think the same thing of me. I invited them to see "Cars" with us later this summer.

The next week will be busy as Mom continues to recover from knee surgery, I start summer camp at a new school, and Dad plays Mr. Mom. Yes, you heard right NEW SCHOOL. I will be going to Pre-K this school year @ Holy Spirit. It was decided that I might as well spend the summer getting to know kids and the school in their summer camp. The nice thing is I can go as many days as I want (depending on their field trips, etc...) and will spend a couple days with Mama Terry each week. It should be a fun summer, but anyone who knows me knows I don't adjust to change very well. (I think that is why Mom thought it would be a good idea to spend a couple days a week in their summer program to adjust before the fall.)
I am positive there will be MANY new stories to come about the new school and my summer. Stay tuned. STAY COOL!

THE ZOO

We went to the zoo today and walked up and down all the hills. Then Mom & I came home and took a 3 hour nap! Here are some highlights of my day:
The giraffe and I had a little conversation about the new baby zebra.

One time I turned around and there was a peacock right behind me! (It scared me just a little.)
The goats got really excited when fed them some crackers.

Remember the bat on our house a few weeks ago!

My favorite part was the rhino in the water. He was making a lot of noise and flipping water everywhere!

Remember the Robots

You will probably remember that this picture looks familiar, it was taken before Christmas last year. I believe it was part of "My Favorite Things." Last night while Mom was at another work dinner, I asked Dad if I could take my robot into the shower with me. He said no, because it was metal. So tonight I asked Mom if my robot was metal. After Dad explained why I was asking, she said yes and said she could show me by putting a magnet off the ice box on him and it would stick. But guess what.......it didn't stick! Mom kept trying to get it to stick on any part of the robot and it wouldn't! So I told them I could take it in the shower now, grabbed my robot & walked off.

I think Mom & Dad were shocked, but couldn't argue. I've had LOTS of questions lately. For example, tonight I wanted to know what seahorses eat, if monkeys can peel their own banana or if their mommy does it for them, and how many minutes is it when Dad says 5 minutes to bed. I've really been putting my parents to the test.

How To Plant A Flower: By Ethan

Mom decided this weekend was a good time to plant flowers and work on our landscaping (which is a big word for the stuff in front of our house). I got to plant my own little flower in a blue pot. It's going to be my responsibility to water it and take care of it. (Hopefully I remember.)

Just in case you don't know how to plant a flower, I'll lay it all out for you:

First, be very stubborn about using your own big shovel that won't even fit in the flower pot (instead of Mom's little one).

Second, try and fill the pot halfway with dirt without spilling it all over the driveway.

Third, you want to dump the flower in the pot by holding it upside down and yelling "Come out little flower!" ~ because that will make it come out faster.

Next, dig deep into the bag and find some more dirt to put on top. Pat it down with your hands.

Finally, when you're all done you can get into the water hose and wash your hands, then water your plant, and then spray Mom when she turns around & isn't looking. (Hey, accidents happen!)

A Trip To The Bank

For most people a trip to the bank would involve putting money in your account or taking money out. Today I went with Mom while she did her bank business, the plus for me is visiting my Aunt Lynn who works there. She stocks her top right desk drawer full of fun things I like! So each time I visit I walk away a millionaire ~ at least in my mind. She puts it all in a Wal-Mart sack and away I go. Today, I found some more bugs that fit on my fingers and added to my collection.

And she had one of my favorite things.......sticky tape! Who doesn't love tape? It fixes anything. Grandma Terry came over today and helped me wrap up one of my robots who'd lost his head. Give me some tape & I'll be entertained for hours!

Aunt Lynn had been saving something for my farm in our backyard too. Her and Uncle Steve found me a little red tractor (like my Papa Ivory) and some animals & people for the farm. Tomorrow we're going to be outside all day (Mom is going to plant flowers) and I should have plenty of time to expand the farm. My thanks to The Roth's! Come visit my farm ~ it's open during daylight hours only.
